Organizational Transition

When your an employee in a job and all else fails the best result for you is to just get out.  There are 5 different situations that I will discuss about why an employee will leave an organization.

  1. Negative Feedback
  • Employees need to now what their employers think of them.  Mistake must be pointed out and when a jobs well done that needs to be recognized soon.  Informal in how these are usually communicated, and how the feedback is interpreted can have major effects on the employee.  Positive of course will motivate and employee and raise moral, but negative can have a horrible affect.  Depression may set in and can cause un-appreciation felt by the employee and ultimately cause them to leave.

2. Pay

  • This is something that can be a big motivator for someone to leave for a different organization.  Performance within the company can be a deciding factor or case – by – case evaluations can determine a raise or salary.  Financial choices are a big part of jobs and must be looked into when deciding to stay or leave.

3. Separation

  • In the economic ways of the world some organizations come to a point were the need to have layoffs or reduce the size of the company.  Some of the reductions are aimed at positions that have lost their utility.  Even when this happens and the job lose is out of the employees hands  it can still cause depression but the employee needs to stay motivated and know that there are more opportunities out there

4. Promotions

  • Performance is a big indicator for promotions but with that employees need to know that just because someone is good at performing in one area does not mean they will perform good in another area .  Which mean that sometimes an unqualified individual will get a promotion that should have gone to another.  Employees can wait for management to know their mistake or know that they will be more useful with another organization.

5. Organizational Development/Direction

  • This one is easy an employee needs to know that organizations are always changing.  Along with this if they are happy with the direction that a organization is going than they will transition perfectly.  On the other hand if not then find a new company.  Although an employee stays the company might still fall behind which in turn will make the employee fall behind so it might be time to separate yourself.

Now that you have separated and found a new job start by evaluating your role of the previous company and know how to transition to a new organization.
